After what seems like years, 2 of my Layouts have been published in Scrapbooking and Beyond.

Although I have been Published in AUSSIE mags before, this is my first AMERICAN Mag Publish. So excited!

Its also a first Whole Page Publication for me!

These are my DT pages for MY LITTLE BIT OF WHIMSY

My first share is of my little girl and I found the perfect MY LITTLE BIT OF WHIMSY flower button to compliment the look of the page. Have you spotted it?

For the scalloped circle effect: Place a large dinner plate upside down on the edge of Cardstock. Use a sea sponge/Kitchen Sponge and blot some paint around the edge of the Plate. When dry, loosley doodle the inside edge for definition.

There it is....well done, you found it!

For the Tie Dye Banner effect: Cut shapes out of a patterned Paper Towel. Careful turn the edges through a drop of Watery Ink or Colour wash. The Paper towel soaks up and creates a dark to light effect. I sprayed a quick layer of Acid free to ensure no damage to my page over time.

GET PICKY November Inspiration Challenge #14

Tell a story and use more than one Photo.

This is my story:

Our little Keanu is 18mths.

From 12mths he would pull "Hulk Face" on command.

He clenches and shakes his little fists, turns bright red and grimaces. 5 seconds later he has not only himself in fits of laughter but his whole family and all of our friends.

These photos capture him in action....

I Have used 2 PURPLE PUMPKIN buttons and lots of Chipboards from WOW.

Texture Paste and Butterflies

I love little baby girls and I love pink!

A friend had a Beautiful baby girl and I had some newly aquired Texture Paste.

What to do? This little piece is the result. I used Texture Paste to create a base and worked my way up with 3D Butterflies. That was lots of Punching, Inking and Gluing LOL.

Its not Awesome...but its a start and it's inspired lots of new project idea's.

This is the biggest problem with getting decent Photo's to scrap. My three kids never all look at the same time, even with Grandma & Grandpa's help. It just made me laugh at the reality of it. I have one Poser, who poses way to much and two who just dont want to know about the camera and will do everything BUT smile for mummy.

Monochromatic Fun!

Ive had this little baby for a few weeks now and I can finally reveal it in full.

I was asked to be the Guest designer @ CREATIVE SCRAPPERS and I thank them very much for having me. This is Juliana Michaels first sketch and its a great challenge. So if you have some multiphotos to scrap then give it a go!

I flipped it to suit my photos.

I tried to follow the seaside beach shack theme of these Photo's. Two of my babies playing on the Jetty with the Underwater Observatory behind them.

Although the page did not photograph well the different hues of blue are so bright and sparkly together. I had fun painting little seagulls!

The little Chipboard shipping wheel is from WOW and it was ordered through MAD ABOUT SCRAPPING

The netting is from a Fresh Garlic bunch, washed and dried thoroughly. Waste not..... :-)

Collage Photo layout!

Hi,

I wanted to capture my son and his silly faces and poses so I set the camera to multishoot and kept shooting.

I love the photos and how they turned out, I love each and every face!!!

I brought the photos to life with PINK PAISLEY Office Lingo Die Cut paper, Prima paintable words (he) and PURPLE PUMPKIN doileys and Handmade Flowers.

My daddy has the coolest job in the world!!!!

My Hubby is a playground Designer for schools and local councils. He plans the colours and how they will look.

Daddy planned a special road trip to go all around the bottom half of WA visiting the playgrounds he has designed over the last 4 yrs. We spent 22 hours in the Car, Stayed in Outback Katanning and stopping at lots of little country towns. We stayed at the bottom of Aust in Denmark then along the South West Coast of Aust in Busselton. So many stops, coffees and pee trips along the way but I was blown away with how good the kids all were. They loved stopping and playing on daddy's playgrounds. It was a kids dream Holiday!

This is not one of Daddy's and I'm not sure how legal it is but all of the rides and slides are adult sized and I just had to get up and have a go!!! They were such a long way down.

Katanning WA

If you are ever in Australia you have to stay in DENMARK. It is right at the bottom of Aust and so beautiful and green. Here is a view from our room out over the ocean.

These are the gorgeous forrest cottages we stayed in. Sorry, hubby wouldn't move his car Grrr!

We then Headed to Busselton (My old Hometown and where my sister is laid to rest) and Bunbury.

There is a 3km Jetty there with an underwater observatory at the end. You can catch the kiddy train out to the end of the jetty. The kids were so excited. Including hubby below :-)

We then headed to DONNYBROOK WA, another small quaint green Country town.

They have a playground there (not one of dads) but it would be disneyland to any kid.

Where were these playgrounds when I was growing up?

Our youngest was mesmerized by the big Apple and kept giving it high fives.

I will have a few pictures to scrap now. Needed some new photo's

So if your ever in Aust WA has lots to offer with kids :-)

Baby Boy Card and a sneak!

Hi all just a Quick Share in between loads of holiday washing:

A friend just had a bubba boy and as you can guess his name starts with "S" :-)

I love how this little card turned out and it ties at the back so the giftcard cant fall out.

A little sneak of my Nov Guest Spot page @ Creative Scrappers. All will be revealed next month :-)

Some more Purple Pumpkin, My New Toy & News!

Hello everyone,

This is my latest share, My little boy had all of his curls cut off and he looked so different.

I experimented with Sepia and Colour photos usually not seen together, but in this case I love the effect.

I have used: Tim Holtz Colour Wash Mist/Stream, Echo Park Paper Scraps, Butchers twine from Purple Pumpkin, 7 gypsies Tag, Doilies, bookrounds and buttons from Purple Pumpkin. How sweet is the little green bird!

NEW TOY! My baby sister gave me a brand new Camera. She really made my day, thank you little sis. Its a Canon EOS 1100d. It is my first DSLR and about time. I have no idea how to use any of the features yet but Im excited to learn and so is hubby. I keep finding him in the office pressing buttons and taking photos of random things. These are the first to pictures I took, clearly alot to learn but I love the depth of field feature. Now to work on the lighting, use a better subject than my non flowering Frangipani and make sure I dont have the car in view :-)

Hello!

We decided to have some photos taken on the park with my 3 children and thier cousins by a local Photographer we have used before.

It was no easy venture trying to get 5 under 5 looking at the same time, but we did get some beautiful photos and the kids played and had fun in between shots on the playground.

I was once again amazed at Amy's ( the Photographer) photos and how she has captured the bright sparkle in thier eyes. Something I see every day but for the life of me can not capture.

Then I discovered a program on the net that is free to use and offers this function, plus complexion repair and lighting adjustments. Im yet to give it a go but wanted to share. The free applications are offered by THE COFFEE SHOP BLOG. I cant wait to give it a go when I get a moment to myself.

I have some exciting News to share: I was chosen to be a Guest Designer at one of my most Favourite Scrapbooking supply places

I feel so privileged to be able to take part but also feel so small and insignificant working alongside some very talented ladies I have always looked to for Inspiration. I cant wait to create something for you all!

I also had another 2 Layouts accepted for publication in Scrapbooking memories Magazine. Its always exciting to get that email.... :-)

I haven't had time to scrap lately with School holidays. Trying to stay out of the house and keep the kids entertained so I don't have a mountain of house cleaning to do when they go back to school.

Spreading the Love.....

This is the Sketch Sept 15th at STUCK?!

I have used Echo Park Victorias Gardens papers. This is a different style for me but I love the finished product. With no sun in sight at the moment all Im getting is cloudy shadowed photos.

I flipped the sketch sideways.

The Photo is of Me and my Hubby 2 nights before we got married almost 7 years ago. I stayed in an awesome hotel apartment for a week before we got married. It was in Rockingham WA, above some beautiful restaurants meters from the waters edge. The photos are of us mucking around on the balcony. I got ready on my wedding morning there and watched my soon to be hubby swimming with some Dolphins below. Took me several hours to get ready, he went home and got changed about an hour before I walked down the aisle. LOL I had a gorgeous Old white stretch Statesman and as I walked out of the hotel that morning, everyone out for breakfast clapped as I walked along the boardwalk. Such an odd but memorable moment :-)

My little boy takes after me and likes to do creative things. He asked me for photos and his own scrapbook. So I gave him Paper off cuts and some un used photos. Here are his first 2 pages. He is only 5 and very proud of what he came up with. He has made little flip doors, a tiny bit of journalling..... It shows what he is thinking of and what is special to him in that moment.

I think his pages are gorgeous :-)

Ola! I have some very cute Baby Girl cards to share today. With a number of friends expecting little girls I thought it was time to crack the whip and get a little stash ready.

Gorgeous Crate Paper Blue Hill Collection papers and BG Sugared Collection Elements.

Inspiration. The picture below is for Daffodil Day, to raise awareness for Cancer Sufferers. Any one can help support the Cancer Council by buying a Yellow Daffodil. The money raises goes towards Cancer research and a hope for a cure.

I love the bright fresh sunny look of Yellow, and these pictures taken over the summer when Our little boy took his first steps were the perfect match.

I have used Prima flowers and Packaging.

GROWING UP!

Welcome all! Thank you for all of the lovely comments you have been leaving.

This Paper started out as a yellow patterned Crate paper. I played with my Daughters water hairspray bottle and TIM HOLTZ Colourwash, then a little bit of Purple radiant rain on top. I found my 3yr old Girl in the office adding some aqua and red paint to my page. Ah! I was able to work with the new picaso of colours and Im happy with how it turned out. Although I was at first annoyed, the page is even more special knowing my little girl helped to make it LOL

The page is all about the big changes my little boy has gone through in the last few months which seems to have made him grow up overnight.

He lost a tooth (so I made little teeth to go on the page, super cute), Daddy bought him a guitar and he started lessons and keeps telling me hes a rockstar. He learnt how to do arm and leg farts (such a boy), and asked me to cut his hair like Justin Beaver's (Biebers) so the girls would think he was cute and they would like him. What the? He's five!

Weve been really proud of him too, he has earnt 6 merrit certificates this year at school so he got to talk to our Prime Media (Prime Minister) when she came to his school in WA last week. Her name is Julia Gillard but he had me in stitches because he thought her name was Julia Gizzard!!!

Because he has been so good we bought him a Leapster 2 Hand Console and games (The DS he wants is out of question until he is older). Of course Miss 3 then had to have one too, and it had to be the pink one so then the search started LOL.

I must say for any mum it is an awesome invention to get a moment of peace. They sit together quietly on the couch and play with it, and its actually teaching them something educational. Best Buy!

EGYPT

Our 15mth old broke his collarbone so there has been alot of time spent at home and TLC. I'm feeling like a caged bird....He is mending well though so hope to be out and about soon. Amidst the chaos I had some me time to do a layout.

If I could go anywhere in the world it would be EGYPT. I want to see inside the pyramids and touch the walls painted by people many centuries ago...... There is so much history and another lifetime to discover and feel part of.

Knowing It will probably only ever remain a DREAM to visit, I could not pass up the opportunity to visit the Egyptian Antiquities from the Louvre Exhibition in 2007. I was so overwhelmed and in awe at the Mummified animals, Ramses Sarcophagus and all the golden treasures and manuscripts I was able to see. Unfortunately cameras were not allowed so I had no photos for memorabilia. They were however, selling hand painted pictures, made in Egypt. I just had to take something home with me so here it is.......

I can smell the mini quiches starting to burn so better run.... till next time ciao!!!!

Broken Bones...........

I have a little boy who thinks he can fly! :-)

Keanu figured out how to climb the half walls in the house. On Tues he slipped of the top and fell on his head with a big "Crack". Whilst crying vomiting and in a lot of pain the Doc said to take him home, he's fine, just a bit of shock. Unhappy with the answer because I heard something crack and he was inconsolable I took him for a 2nd opinion to the hospital. They X-rayed his head, shoulders and CT Scanned him. Broken collarbone and concusion!!! He lapsed in and out of sleep so he was kept in and doped up on pain killers. Our other son Broke his collarbone at school 4 mths earlier and the reaction baby was giving was similiar, so Im glad I trusted my instincts, ignored the original doc and took him to the hospital. His arm is taped with a wide tape to his body, but despite the discomfort and alot of yellow bruising He's still quite chirpy. I just have to be more gentle giving him big squishy cuddles for a while, and did I mention the difficulty gently manouvering him in and out of the car seat for the school run every morning. Thank goodness its now the weekend. LOL

I received my new Tim Holtz Leaf cutting dies in the mail and and was so excited to try them out on this page. I think they look cool. The dies cut through Fabric so I am going to try cutting some velvet leaves next. The Birdbath is Handrawn, cut and inked by me on thick Card. The gorgeous buttons are by PURPLE PUMPKIN. The butterflies were punched with a MARTHA STEWART Punch.

I had a collection of beautiful Boy papers and Die cuts from the BASIC GREY Mellow Series and I love how they all came together. I think the tree is gorgeous. It gave the Page a more Wintery Autumn look..... and its certainly that here. Blustery, cold and raining. Im surprised I managed to take such good photos on my poxy point and click on an overcast day...See! Miracles do happen LOL

An Album for a Loved One Passed

It has been a busy week this week. The kids are on school holidays so we have been a shuttle service for thier visits, play dates and parties! Me and Hubby were able to have a lovely Date Weekend just gone too. We were able to sleep in until Lunchtime!!! Something we havent done since the birth of our first child. It was glorious!!! We went out for chinese dinner, Watched Transformers 3 (Something else we havent been able to do for ages) and just relaxed. The kids are back now so all I can hear is whinging again and I cant recall how many times Ive nicely asked my 3yr Old to hop back into bed. LOL Cant wait until next Date weekend :-) Its great to have them back though, felt lost without them.

On a sad Note, we also had a funeral to attend on Saturday for a special friend. He used to come see us almost every Saturday and always had plenty of hugs and lollies for our kids. Our 5 yr Old cried for hours and was so sad. We are all happy in a way though for him and his dear wife that he doesnt have to keep battling Cancer anymore. He will be missed by and touched the hearts of so many.

I made this journal keepsake for his wife to preserve many precious memories, with a smile she told me it was too pretty to put her scribble in so it was to become an ornament LOL. Love her dearly.

Sorry I have been a bit MIA!

Sadly our friend battling Cancer passed this week so I have been busily making a memories Album for his wife. I will try to take pictures before it is given.

That been said I only have one share for today. This Page is for The Colour Room Challenge #66

I have used Websters pages as a base and built my nest from there :-)

FRAME TUTORIAL for chipboards collecting dust!!!

This is my take on the latest PURPLE PUMPKIN Sketch Challenge.

If you love the HANDMADE FRAMES and need to use up some old chippies, I have made up the perfect little tutorial a little further down.

I wanted a bright fresh GET WELL SOON layout for my little girl, so I could journal her first eye operation and hospital experiences.

I tried really hard to hand make most of the items on the page. In a way a gift to my little girl and the special page she will one day receive.

I handmade the large rosette, frames and flag banner.

The little cute BEE button is from PURPLE PUMPKIN. The handmade Yellow button is from MLBOW. The little cloud is made by Leanne @ CLOUDS and MORE.

FRAME TUTORIAL

Please feel free to share but link back to here.

Find any odd chippies that would make a great frame outline.

Cut out the middles and file for nice clean edges.

Adhere some bling, rhinestones......any odd little charms that need using up really. The colour doesnt matter as they will be painted over.

Once the gems are in place and the glue is dry you can sponge paint over the frames with white or black Gesso before applying a coat of paint in your colour choice.

Add a layer of Clear gloss like Dimensional magic for very polished look. I kept mine in a natural Gesso painted state for a more matte finish.

I hope you have fun trying out this technique.
